Biocon Academy website screenshot: First Of Its Kind Career Advancement Program In ‘Clinical Development’ in Collaboration with Keck Graduate Institute, (KGI)

Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, June 08, 2017: Biocon Academy, a CSR initiative of Asia’s leading biotechnology company, has announced the introduction of a unique program in ‘Clinical Development’ in collaboration with Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) in Claremont, California.

The exclusive program is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of aspiring B. Pharm, M. Pharm, and Pharm D graduates & post graduates. The partnership envisions to accelerate learning in the fast growing field of Clinical Development and enhance the employability prospects of students in biosciences.

Every year over 65,000 pharmacists with D. Pharm, B Pharm, M Pharm degrees pass out in India from around 1000 pharmacy colleges. And Out of the 12 lakh registered pharmacists across the country, 8 lakh pharmacists are still unemployed. These numbers project the appalling skill deficit associated and unemployable rate.

The new program is designed to offer experiential learning in the areas of Clinical trial design, Execution, Clinical data management, Statistical analysis, Interpretation and Presentation through an intensive curriculum delivered by renowned faculty of KGI and Biocon Academy. Along with providing scientific background of Clinical Studies by the renowned faculties of Keck Graduate Institute, the program also aims to equip students with industry assignments and hands on training in the State-of-the-Art facilities of Syngene and R&D Labs of Biocon.

In addition to honing technical skills, this program also sharpens the professional skills of candidates and provides an opportunity for holistic development.

Biocon KGI Certificate Program in Clinical Development is a 16 weeks full time program aimed to empower pharmacist with application know-how of the design, implementation and statistical knowledge. This application know how is provided to them through experienced faculties of Keck graduate Institute. The specific focus of the program is to train the masters in pharmacy candidate in the areas of clinical trial design, execution, clinical data management, statistical analysis, interpretation and presentation.

Scholarship:  75% of the program fee by Biocon to all selected students
