Leading Entrepreneur Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw will deliver the IHC Annual Lecture on Monday, 5 February at 7pm at the Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre. She will be speaking on the “Strategic Importance of Data Science in Research and Innovation.” The entry to the lecture is free and open to the public, and seating will be on first-come, first-serve basis.

Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw is a pioneer of the biotechnology industry in India and the founder of the country’s leading biotechnology enterprise, Biocon. Named among TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world, she is recognized as a thought leader who built a globally recognized biopharmaceutical enterprise. As a global influencer, she is ranked among Forbes magazine’s ‘World’s 100 Most Powerful Women’, Fortune’s ‘Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Asia-Pacific, and was also inducted into the US Indian Business Council, a premier business advocacy organisation focusing on bilateral ties.

She has also established the Mazumdar-Shaw Medical Center in Bangalore to deliver affordable world-class cancer care services and has also set up the Mazumdar Shaw Center for Translational Researchto nurture scientific breakthroughs for treating a wide range of human diseases.
